I'm really getting tired of all this down time with the server(the 24 cat down time i understand), But when regular down time turns into 6-8hours that's a little ridicules. especially when you do the math with the down time...
IE. your average player plays for maybe 5 hours a day Your average weekly maintenance lasts for about 6 hours. so 6*52=312hour of down time a year 312/24=13days worth of down time a year that doesn't seam to bad but then if you do your math like this 312(hours down)/5(average play time)=64.2 days where your average player can't play.so in the end blizz needs to get their heads out of their arses and start getting things back up on time or find some new employees that can!(or better yet give us at least a free month or to of play time )

You're assuming that the average player's time of play falls within Blizzard's window. This is quite the opposite as they chose that time due to it being the least active time for the player base.
Now, five years later, it's safe to assume that virtually everyone (save the brand new customers perhaps) knows about the dreaded Tuesday maintenance. Schedules are altered and the expectation is to not play then.
Now think about how often maintenance runs over the normally scheduled time. There was a month prior to 3.3.5 where each Tuesday was late. There have been a few other instances on other Tuesdays as well. Today, and I believe two (three?) other days this calendar year, are/were 24 hours in length--but only on select servers each time.
I do believe this means the average gamer has lost a total of maybe 15-20 hours in total play time this year.
I mean, I'm all for a good rant, but 64 days? That's a little over the top Darl. ;p

Also how is it only 13 days of average downtime total, but yet the average player loses 64 days of play? or did I mis read your formula?

I divided the 13(312hours) days of down time by the average play time of a player.(5hours) so 312/5=62

Yeah I mis read that... I was thinking you were saying that each player incurred 13 days of downtime, which was 60 some odd hours.... I was like 13 days is more than that! but thats played time move along, this slow kid is getting back on the short bus
